Why NewFound Eyes?

When I was 10 years old, I was diagnosed with a very rare eye disease. I was already established as an accomplished artist, so I never turned back. I went to the Florida School of the Arts and earned a degree in both Fine Art and Graphic Design, winning the Visual Artist of the Year award as well. I have won countless awards in Florida for my art in various forms, and have worked professionally for over 20 years specializing in portraits. I lost my ability to drive 9 years ago, and now have macular degeneration as well. My best sight is now at 3"-4" and I am extremely light sensitive. |
| So I am painting now while I can and doing sculptures as needed. I started doing portraits in clay since I no longer can see people's faces, but I can still feel them. Since the loss of my sight became substantial, I have noticed my art is becoming extremely well received. I have been repeatedly asked to put up this site, so here it is. I hope you enjoy it. |
